Bernard

Bernard

Bernard's family history supports his love of bikes. "My family have always owned and worked in bike shops since the 1800's"

Having grown up around bikes and cycling Bernard has run Shrewsbury Cycles on the Ditherington Road for almost 30 years.

"I'm proud of the team here, and enjoy running the business. It amazes me how many cycling enthusiasts return to us and recommend their friends and family"

It's easy to see why people are so keen to recommend the shop, one customer said "I was sold a heap of junk from so-called cycle shop in town. Now it's fallen apart they don't want to know." he added "Bernard and all the guys here know what they're doing and offer honest advice. They're not out to rip anybody off" something that Bernard stands by "We're here to keep people on the move, whether they're commuting, off-roading or just out for a casual Sunday cycle with the family"

Paul

Paul

Paul's passion for his work is second to none. "I love working at Shrewsbury Cycles." he continues, "I've worked at big corporate places and not enjoyed it one bit. Here we all pull together and help one-another out." Paul is a gifted cycle mechanic who enjoys working alongside Bernard. "We take part in charity runs together and I always try to beat him" he says "but it's often that sense of team spirit that's lacking in other shops." Paul's ethos is supported by many customers, one commented "The lads in this shop work together and help each other teach one-another and you can really tell the difference it makes." he adds "I wouldn't take my bike anywhere else." In his spare time Paul takes his mountain bike to any hill he can get to. "On a Sunday morning we're worried whether he'll make it to work on a Monday" jokes Bernard.

Jack

Jack

Jack works at Shrewsbury Cycles alongside his studies. "Bernard's a great guy to work for. I like the way he puts customers first, making sure they've got what they need." Jack's energy and drive often helps to keep the team going during busy times in the shop. "When customers bring their bikes in it's nice that they can see everyone that's worked on it" he adds "working here has inspired me to cycle more" So much so that he now has a Raleigh mountain bike that he takes out when he's not working or studying.
